Five Years!

Five years ago on the 12th of June 2012, we opened Care Net Penn Yan for our very first day in operation with a brand new Executive Director and an even newer volunteer. The last five years have brought with them happiness and heartaches, slow times and times when we felt like we were running ragged, and so much growth. The center itself has grown to include more square footage which is now our office and welcoming area. Our services have grown and developed. The number of clients that we are privileged to serve is growing continually. In keeping with the need, our team has also grown, in numbers and in experience and training.

We can't help but be grateful as we look back on the time that we've existed so far. The support of this community is a constant encouragement to us as that is what allows us to exist and serve each of our treasured clients. We're grateful for the opportunity that we have to walk through a part of each individual's journey with them, even if it's just for a moment to let them know how absolutely valuable they are. There are times when we get to share in their joy, and times when we're sharing the heartache with them.

There are so many aspects that make Care Net wonderful-the fact that we get to meet practical needs, but also offer emotional & spiritual support as well. The fact that it's our job to share hope and love with every person who walks in our doors whether they're here for an appointment, or dropping off a donation, or stopping in to say hi. We get to share about worth and value and identity. We get to share strategy for building healthy lifestyles and relationships. We get to work towards a healthier community, by meeting individual and family needs.

I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of this journey of Care Net Penn Yan, and to be a part of a community that cares for others so well! Thank you for being part of our story, and if you're just joining us, Welcome! The next 5 years are going to be amazing!
